Ok, I gotta admit I let this project sleep for way too long. Ive made very little progress in over a year until today. Today I replaced the alternator and battery which solved my charging issues. The car starts up and runs now very easily and my next move is going to be towing it to my buddy who is more of an expert than I on tuning carbs. Once its driveable, ill get it registered and start installing the footwork :)

Yanked the car out of hibernation yesterday, of course the battery is dead, so once I have a dry day I'll charge it and try to fire it up. I picked up all the stuff I need to finish the suspension over the winter, and will be getting new tires soon for my epsilons.

made some room and fit the car in the garage for winter storage. I won't be doing any more work until spring now.

IT LIVES!

My buddy stopped by tonight and helped me troubleshoot the car. Turns out I was using the wrong mark on the pulley to line up TDC, once the problem was corrected it fired right up!! I'll try to time it with a light tomorrow and possible take it for a spin (need to fill it up with gas and maybe run it through a car wash)

needless to say, I'm very happy tonight!

Still no start with the correct distributor. I can get it popping and backfiring, but it wont catch and run. Winter is fast approaching and I'll be putting the car away soon (I made room in the garage)

still trying to get a bluetop distributor. that should be the only thing keeping it from running right now. All my leads on getting one are being very slow on getting back to me via email :(

Other good news is that I did pick up those wheels. theyre very sick, I think i'll need some fender work to make em fit nice.

Winter is approaching fast, I really need to get it running before I put it away.

No progress yet. reinstalled the carb manifold and 1 carb last night before it got dark (happens early now) I'll get the other one reinstalled tonight, and maybe take a ride up to Ben Aldens tonight (hes the one I bought the engine off, and says he has a bluetop dizzy i can swap)

I find myself addicted to spending on this car. I still have alot of stuff I'll be buying before the project is over, and I keep finding used parts on club4ag that I feel I need to buy now instead of later. Example, my next purchase should be shocks and brakes so I can get started on swapping to the GTS rearend I have, but I found a deal on some sick 15x8 deep offset Epsilon wheels that I really want. I sent the guy an email today, and will probably be driving out to boston this weekend to pick em up :)

Still wont run. I've learned I may need a different distributor as the MSD cant run off this JDM hi comp one (later type) as it is hall effect style. I'll pick up a blut top dizzy this week and hopefully solve the problem.

I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs today as well to rule that out as a problem.

Defeat! Got it all finished up today, but couldnt get it to fire up. I expected to have some bugs to work out, but I couldnt figure it out. Started off by having flames shooting out of the carbs, figured out the distributer was clocked wrong, and got it set correctly, so now I at least have it backfiring out of the exhaust (which, by the way looks awesome!)



I'll have to get a couple friends of mine to help me figure it out. soon enough...

Tomorrow is the big day. Went and picked up a Trust DD exhaust today, so I'll install that tomorrow and try to fire it up!

Yesterday I put in a full day of wiring. got the MSD 6AL, MSD tach adapter, and MSD coil all wired in, hooked up the wiring to the fuel pump, and installed an adjustable temp controlled fan switch for the radiator. I took the coil wire off and turned it over a few times to test it and everything seems to be working.
